1.Introduction
PTLLS (level 3) is a nationally recognised award providing an introduction to Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (including further, adult and community education, work based learning, libraries and the volunteer sector). It provides a stepping stone to the Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS) and the Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS). The qualifications are designed to enable candidates to adopt an integrated approach to the theory and practice of teaching. You will also be able to identify the principles of learning, teaching, assessment and evaluation. Ultimately you will develop the confidence, communication and inter-personal skills to deliver effective training within your field.
2. Aims
The course aims to provide candidates to adapt an integrated approach to the theory and practice of teaching and apply the principles of learning, teaching assessment and evaluation

At the end of the course candidates will be able to understand their own role, responsibilities and boundaries of their role in relation to teaching.
4. Pre-course activity
Candidates will need to be looking to work in a teaching role. This is a level three qualification and there is no minimum qualification requirement to join the course.

About this assessment
This assessment is to be used to assess candidates undertaking the practical section of Unit 1 Preparing to teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector at Level 3. Pro formas recommended for use with this assessment are provided in the appendices.
6. Additional Information and pricing
There is a considerable amount of study and homework to complete with the course. System Training run the course for five days in total, however this is split into three days on the first week and two days the week after to enable candidates to feel comfortable in the learning environment.
7. Further training
Upon completion of the PTLLS course, candidates can further their training by completing the DSA Instructor course. This is for 15 days in total and separated into three parts: Theory, Driving ability and Instructional ability.
